MeisterSinger was founded in 2001 and takes its name from a group of middle-class poets and singers from the 15th and 16th Century. The brand’s logo is a fermata, the symbol for rest in musical notation. MeisterSinger are heavily inspired by the first mechanical clocks of the Middle Ages as they only had one hand. During this period of history, people had no need for precise timing, so an idea of the time would suffice. By adopting this philosophy, the brand allows the wearer to focus on the quality of their time, rather than the quantity. This places an acute awareness on how time is spent instead of how quickly it passes. MeisterSinger aim for simplicity and clarity in all of their designs. The classic styles of the brand are timeless with little regard for trends and styles.
The Classic Plus Collection uses the key features of the MeisterSinger design and adds additional features and complications. The watches in the collection feature date apertures, weekday displays, minute indices and more in an effort to give the wearer a more precise concept of time without being too specific. MeisterSinger manage to maintain their ethos of enjoying the passing of time without being too aware of it even with the addition of more timekeeping features.
